Doubtlessly, fluffy hot poori is one of the items in the menu list of many Indian homes and restaurants. It is definitely one of the best global Indian snack items you should try before you die! Poori can also be packed as a convenient snack item, along with your travel plans.

Well, how is poori prepared?

The base ingredients used in making poori are maida (refined wheat flour), or atta (whole wheat flour), or sooji (coarse wheat flour). It is mixed well seasoned with salt. Some people add cumin seed or ajwain seed to the dough to enrich the flavor. The well-mixed dough is then cut and rolled into small circles. It is then deep-fried in vegetable oil or ghee until it(puri) puffs up like a round ball. You can stop frying it until it turns into a color close to golden-brown. Poori is best when served hot.

The same puris, when rolled up into smaller sizes, can be used for chaat dishes as well.

Poori goes really well with delicious korma, potato-based gravy/curry, chana or chick peas masala and dal. It can also be eaten with chutney, non-veg curries (mutton or chicken or fish), and pickles.

What are you waiting for? Make some pooris and treat your taste buds, now!
